Deux mains is a social enterprise brand that creates footwear, handbags and jewelry in Haiti. The brand began in response to the earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010 when Julie Colombino founded the nonprofit REBUILD globally. REBUILD globally was able to provide microloans and training to the women looking for ways to help them recover from the disaster. The training consisted of making footwear from the tires found in the street. The soles crafted by the REBUILD globally refugees are paired with locally sourced materials to craft deux mains products. Deux mains is a Haitian owned artisan business.
